Vets for Trump co-chair on doctored image with racial undertones: ‘I had a moment of weakness’
This afternoon, the co-chair of the New Hampshire Veterans for Trump Coalition promoted an image of a Hillary Clinton supporter with racial undertones: a black woman in African dress, standing on an American flag, waving a Hillary for President banner.
State Rep. Werner Horn, a Franklin Republican, shared the doctored photo from the New England for Trump Facebook page and posted it on his own public Facebook page.
It was a fake. The original photo, on which the image was based, pictures Latausha Nedd, a Georgia activist, waving a Pan-African Flag rather than a Hillary for President banner (see below).
Nedd, who has a long history of social justice activism, was arrested last year and charged with making terroristic threats in online videos. There is no record of Nedd expressing support for the Clinton campaign.
One visitor to Horn’s Facebook page complained about the obviously doctored image. “There are sooooooooooo many things y'all can attack that woman on that doesn’t involve photoshopped, unsourced internet images,” she wrote.
"It’s so frustrating,” Horn replied, “i had a moment of weakness.”
