Rep. Susan DeLemus: FBI agent suspected of leaking Clinton email assassinated by ‘Clinton machine’
A Republican lawmaker is convinced an FBI agent who investigated Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server was murdered by the “Clinton machine.”
This afternoon, state Rep. Susan DeLemus posted a link to a purported news story reporting the death of an FBI agent suspected of leaking Hillary Clinton’s email. “An FBI agent believed to be responsible for the latest email leaks ‘pertinent to the investigation’ into Hillary Clinton’s private email server while she was Secretary of State, was found dead in an apparent murder-suicide early Saturday morning, according to police,” the story read.
“It is so horrible that I can’t even be sarcastic about the death of this agent and his wife,” the Rochester Republican wrote on her Facebook page. “I will say that once again the Clintons can be directly linked to this couple. So many people who were involved with the Clintons are dead,” DeLemus continued. “Many very suspiciously. I see this as another assassination by the Clinton machine.”
The piece DeLemus posted cited a Denver Guardian news report as the source for the story. Reporters for the Denver Post quickly debunked both the story and the source. “[T]here is no such thing as “The Denver Guardian” and the news story it ‘reported’ never happened,” they wrote. The Post reporters noted the following red flags:
“The domain denverguardian.com was first registered in July 2016 and is hosted by GoDaddy.
“This story is the only story showing up under the “News” section and all other sections are turning up errors.
“There is no Walkerville, Maryland. There is a Walkersville, Maryland, but the city does not have a police department, making the quote from “Walkerville Police Chief Pat Frederick” null and void.
“The address listed for the newsroom is a tree in a parking lot next to a vacant bank building on Colfax.”
