Birther defense: Gilford arrest 'just another example of Common Core taking away parental right'
The birther crowd is a tight-knit group. After William Baer, who hosted a 2012 birther forum in New Jersey, was arrested for disrupting a Gilford school board meeting, he granted an interview to The Post and Email, an online publication that notes, “Because questions remain about the constitutional eligibility of Barack H. Obama to serve as President as defined by Article II, Section 1 of the U.S. Constitution, The Post & Email does not refer to him as the ‘President.’ ”
Baer told The Post & Email editor Sharon Rondeau that he went to the school board meeting specifically to demand an official read aloud from “Nineteen Minutes,” a ninth-grade English text he calls “pornographic.”
“I spoke to the principal Monday and I told him what I was going to do,” Baer said. “I wanted them to read it. They refused to, and my two minutes was spent arguing with them.”
Naturally, Rondeau followed up with a call to Harry Accornero, the former Republican lawmaker from Laconia who recently wrote a letter to the editor of the Laconia Daily Sun calling the Obamas “a totally made up family.”
Accornero told Rondeau that Baer’s arrest was "just another example of Common Core taking away parental rights and telling students that the state knows better.”
“When will the American People wake up and end this takeover of America?” Accornero asked.
