Americans for Prosperity follows anti-Shaheen television ads with direct mail blitz
Some New Hampshire voters report receiving five separate direct mail pieces from Americans for Prosperity in the last few days attacking Sen. Jeanne Shaheen.
The mailings are all variations on a theme. “Should Obama, Pelosi and Shaheen be making your family’s healthcare decisions?” one asks. “Thanks to Obamacare, the drive to the hospital may have gotten a whole lot longer,” declares another.
The mailings follow a $1 million-plus television ad campaign attacking Shaheen over her support for the Affordable Care Act. Americans for Prosperity, the deep-pocketed free market advocacy group, launched its first ad in January, followed up with a second in April and another this month.
The direct mail campaign comes on the heels of news that 62% of New Hampshire residents purchasing insurance through the federal marketplace have premiums of $100 a month or less and that more than 50 plans from five insurance companies will be available through the marketplace in 2015.
